2018 Ford F-150

Engine lineup more potent than ever. Diesel coming.

Ford engineers constantly work to make the F-150 pickup better every year and push the competition even harder to try to keep up on the performance front. There are five engine choices, naturally aspirated and turbocharged, including the awesome high-output 3.5L EcoBoost® in the Baja-bred F-150 Raptor. Auto Start-Stop Technology is on all engines. And more engines feature the segment-exclusive* 10-speed automatic. Even bigger F-150 news coming down the road is the new 3.0L Power Stroke® Turbo Diesel (available Spring 2018).

Aluminum-Alloy Body and Fully Boxed Steel Frame

The F-150 body is made of high strength, military-grade, aluminum alloy and is now up to 317 kg (700 lbs.) lighter than the previous generation. Not aluminum in the household sense, but heat-treated and hardened aluminum alloy — the same high-grade 6000-series used in big military and industrial applications. Beneath this aluminum-alloy body is a fully boxed frame made of up to 78 percent high-strength steel.

Best-in-Class Towing*

The F-150 can tow more than any other pickup in its class* with the powerful 3.5L EcoBoost® twin-turbo V6 with port fuel and direct injection (PFDI). This second-generation EcoBoost is rated at 375 horsepower and best-in-class* 470 lb.-ft. of torque, beating out all gas and diesel competitors.*

* Max towing on F-150 XLT SuperCrew®, 6.5’ box, 3.5L EcoBoost, 4X2 and Max Trailer Tow Pkg. Not shown. Class is Full-Size Pickups under 8,500 lbs. (3,855 kg) GVWR based on Ford segmentation.

Class-Exclusive available Pro Trailer Back Up Assist™

Whether you’re a novice or a seasoned pro at the often-tricky manoeuvre of backing up a trailer, the class-exclusive* available Pro Trailer Backup Assist™ makes it as easy as turning a knob. Simply rotate the knob left or right in the direction you want the trailer to go. F-150 is the first pickup truck to offer this breakthrough feature.

• When properly configured. Class is Full-Size Pickups under 8,500 lbs. (3,855 kg) GVWR based on Ford segmentation.
