2018 Toyota Rav 4

Looking for fun in out of the way places? The 2018 Toyota RAV4 Trail joins the RAV4 and RAV4 Hybrid line-up, taking the perfect crossover utility vehicle for those with active lifestyles to new heights.

With the addition of the Trail model, Toyota offered Canadians eight RAV4 model and trim combinations, plus four RAV4 Hybrid versions. All combine equal measures of sport and utility with styling and features to suit every taste and budget.

Curbside, the RAV4’s aerodynamic body style is complemented by sharp front and rear bumper designs and an athletic stance. Exterior details include dual power adjustable and heated side mirrors with integrated signal lamps, roof rails, distinctive wheel arch moldings, a rear spoiler with integrated LED stop lamp, chrome accented window frames and more.

Inside, every RAV4 is comfortable, modern and stylish, with space for five adults and a 60/40 split fold down rear seat with fold down centre armrest to maximize cargo space and versatility. Display Audio systems are standard, featuring Bluetooth connectivity, SIRI Eyes-Free, steering wheel-mounted audio and Bluetooth controls, and more. Other features standard on all models include heated front seats, power windows and door locks, rear privacy glass, map lamps, keyless entry, 12v power outlets for personal electronics, cargo area tie-down rings and storage compartments, and more.

Under the hood, all conventionally-powered RAV4 models are built around a 176 peak horsepower 2.5L four-cylinder engine with aluminum alloy block, dual variable valve timing with intelligence, sequential multiport electronic fuel injection, and acoustic control induction system. Each is enhanced with a heavy-duty battery, starter, alternator and heater, plus a stainless-steel exhaust system. Drivers may choose from three drive modes: Normal, Sport and ECO. This engine is mated to a six-speed super ECT automatic transmission with sequential shift mode and gate type shifter.

All RAV4 Hybrid models are built around a 194 net hybrid system power Toyota Hybrid Synergy Drive, featuring a 2.5L Atkinson cycle four-cylinder engine with variable valve timing with intelligence, electronic throttle control system with intelligence, and cooled exhaust gas recirculation system. Drivers may choose from four drive modes: Normal, Sport, ECO and EV. This engine is mated to a continuously variable transmission with gate-type shifter and transmission cooler.

The RAV4 is offered in a choice of front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive, depending on model. All RAV4 Hybrids are all-wheel drive.

Every Toyota RAV4 also delivers impressive safety performance through a long list of active and passive safety systems – headlined by Toyota Safety Sense P, which will be standard on 95% of Toyota vehicles - from sub-compact to full-size pick-up - by the end of this year.  This bundle of active safety technologies – including the Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Automatic High Beams, and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control – enhances driver capabilities to mitigate collisions, stay in lane, and see at night. Other safety technologies standard on all 2018 RAV4 models include the Toyota Star Safety System, eight air bags, a back-up camera, and more.
